Research Vetting Desk

Three checks for anyone deciding where to publish or what to trust: journal legitimacy, open-web text matches, and writing signals. Built to be honest about what each one can and cannot tell you.

Read this before you trust any result.

Privacy note. This runs on a free AI tier, and the provider may use text sent here to improve their models. Do not paste confidential or unpublished writing you need to keep private into the web-match or writing-signals boxes.

Enter a journal name, publisher, or ISSN. This researches indexing (DOAJ, Scopus), peer-review and fee practices, listings on predatory-journal records, and any documented regulatory or retraction history, then reports what it found with sources.

Paste a passage. This searches the open web for pages carrying identical or near-identical wording and reports what it finds. A short passage of one or two paragraphs works best.

Paste text to see qualitative signals a human reviewer might look into, on both sides. This gives no score and no verdict, by design, because AI detection is unreliable and false accusations do real harm.
